History is not a subject that I am either knowledgeable about, or particularly interested in. However, I was delighted to find a non-politically correct book, Hart (2007), that tackles world history from an evolutionary perspective. Many of the questions he tackles are topics that others shy away from. Below are some examples (emphasis his):
Why has the importance of ancient Egypt been overrated?
Why was the Arab world backward, relative to Europe?
Why is it that China has usually been so much more politically unified and ethnically homogeneous than Europe?
Why was Europe the site of the earliest transition to modern times?
What triggered the Scientific Revolution?
Why did constitutional democracy begin in England?
Why did the Industrial Revolution originate in Great Britain?
